Wolff: I hope Lewis will race for many more years.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff commented on Lewis Hamilton's emotional reaction to his poor performance in Hungary...
Toto Wolff: "He hasn't lost his skill. We saw Lewis, who wasn't hiding his feelings. He said what he felt after the session. He was very vulnerable, doubted himself, and we've encountered this before when he felt he didn't meet his own expectations.
Lewis has been an emotionally open person since childhood; he will always look for problems within himself. He is the greatest driver of all time, and he will always be the greatest driver, and no one can take that away from him, not even a bad weekend or a racing season.
He needs to remember that he is the greatest driver of all time.
Lewis hasn’t said everything in Formula 1 yet. Just as Mercedes didn't meet expectations last season, he has never been satisfied with ground-effect cars. Perhaps it’s related to his driving style.
Lewis shouldn't leave next year with the new cars, which are entirely different to handle, with new power units that require smart energy management – they seem to be tailored for Lewis. I hope he will stay for many more years."
