"Why should I? That would be foolish."

Cora Schumacher has revealed that she intends to keep her ex-husband’s well-known surname "as long as I can still profit from it." In a recent interview with Bild, the former wife of six-time Grand Prix champion Ralf Schumacher also discussed persistent rumors regarding the dynamics of their marriage. The couple ended their marriage in 2015 after 14 years together. Ralf publicly came out as gay in 2024, and while he has mentioned that the motorsport community has been "very supportive," Cora has expressed her feelings of anger and heartache.

German television personality Oliver Pocher even suggested that their relationship was a "ten-year contract" to conceal Ralf’s sexuality during his time in Formula 1, a statement Cora refutes. "I would be wealthy by now if that were true," she said. "I wouldn’t have sacrificed my life for any sum of money." Nevertheless, she is not changing back to her maiden name. "Why should I? That would be foolish," she remarked. "I didn’t sign a nondisclosure agreement as part of the marriage contract."

Cora mentioned that she is currently in therapy and has blocked Ralf’s number: "My fallout with Pocher is in the past. I’m getting along with Olli again. However, Ralf is blocked on my phone."
