"I want to witness the results of our hard work."

Alex Albon asserts that his attention is firmly on Williams, despite his increasing recognition in Formula 1 this season. "I believe I’ve devoted a lot of time, energy, and effort into enhancing the performance of this car," remarked the Thai-British driver. "It's evident that my value has risen this year, but my focus remains on Williams. My contract has a significant duration left, and I am eager to see our progress."

Last year, while already signed with Williams until the end of 2025, Albon further extended his contract for a "multi-year" period, which is believed to extend at least until 2027. The 29-year-old is having an exceptional personal season, heading into the August break with 54 points, in contrast to teammate Carlos Sainz’s 16, and he's outperforming in both qualifying and races.

Team principal James Vowles has been clear that Williams’ main goal is set for 2026 and beyond, even if that implies falling back in this year's competitive midfield battle. "Achieving fifth place would be nice, but it’s not paramount," he stated, noting that the FW47 has received only two upgrades this season, with no further developments planned.

According to Albon, only McLaren has made greater strides than Williams in recent years. "When I assess Williams and the path we’ve taken, I don’t believe there’s another team that has experienced such a swift and consistent improvement year after year. I feel, right or wrong, that I’ve been involved in that journey," he added, "and I want to see us reach our full potential."

Albon is also looking ahead to the regulations reset in 2026, when Mercedes, Williams’ engine supplier, is expected to be among the leaders. Team principal James Vowles has identified 2027 as the year when the long-term investments made by Williams should yield their most significant benefits—an opinion that Albon supports. "I want to see the fruits of our labour," he stated. "I believe we’ve been successful when I compare ourselves to other teams. We might be able to exclude McLaren, but McLaren has been consistent and has had some strong performances over the years."
