Horner's contract with Red Bull has been officially terminated.

On August 13, Christian Horner’s contract with Red Bull Racing was officially terminated – a record of this appeared yesterday in Companies House, the register of companies registered in the United Kingdom.

From now on the 51-year-old manager, one of the most successful team principals in recent Formula 1 history, under whom Red Bull Racing won the Constructors’ Championship six times, no longer works for the organization.

It became known on July 9 that he had been suspended from leading the team. Formally it was said that he had been moved to another role, although it was clear that his final dismissal was only a matter of time.

Horner took charge of the team in 2005, when the Austrian company Red Bull bought the Jaguar Racing assets from the Ford corporation, and remained in the role for twenty years, but everything comes to an end. Laurent Mekies is now the head of Red Bull Racing.

Partly the decision by Red Bull’s leadership to part ways with Horner was a consequence of the scandal that erupted in February 2024, when one of the employees accused the team principal of “inappropriate conduct.” But this rather unpleasant story also coincided with a decline in Red Bull Racing’s performance, and although Max Verstappen nevertheless won a fourth consecutive title, it did not save Horner.

Companies House information also shows that on July 8 Stefan Zaltser was appointed a new director of Red Bull Racing. Since 2007 he had been part of the management of the Austrian Red Bull GmbH, but he has no experience in motorsport.
