Schumacher: Lawrence Stroll faces a difficult choice

Ralf Schumacher has repeatedly criticized Lance Stroll, especially since the Canadian often gives quite obvious reasons for it himself. But now the former driver, and currently an expert for German broadcaster Sky Sport, has flatly stated that if Lawrence Stroll wants his Aston Martin team to be able to contend for the Constructors' Championship in the future, he will have to make a difficult decision to free up a seat for another, more promising driver.

"If Lawrence Stroll really wants his team to win the championship, he should let his son go," Ralf said in an interview with the tabloid Bild. "Just look at the record in qualifying duels against Fernando Alonso, his teammate, and everything becomes clear (13-0 in favor of the two-time world champion). Lance's father will have to make a choice — either give in to familial feelings or bet on success. If Mr. Stroll is serious, he must completely rethink the team's lineup with an eye on 2026. I think he understands that, but it will be hard for him to make such a decision."
