Pierre Gasly: I know, my time will come.

Pierre Gasly is confident that his time will come, and that he will get the chance to fight for race wins and championships driving an Alpine car, and that could happen in the coming years.

For now, among the Renault Group's factory team drivers he is the only one with a contract for next season, and this year Pierre has done everything he could to help Alpine F1 prepare for the changes everyone is expecting in 2026. One of the major innovations facing the team is the switch to Mercedes power units.

"I think I'm very happy with the work I'm doing with the team," Gasly told RacingNews365. "After all, it's perfectly clear what I want, what the efficiency should be and how we should exchange information.

"After all, over the course of the two full seasons I've already spent at Alpine, there have been a lot of changes in the team; it was a period of instability. But now it seems to me that what we are doing together with the specialists around me is more regular, it's going more smoothly, and that allows us to produce more consistent results throughout the year.

"Of course, I know very well what the car's shortcomings are and what exactly is not working in it, because that was the case when I first joined the team. But I also know what is already working better. The team is meeting me halfway, we are together trying to find an optimal approach, and we are succeeding.

"So I'm confident in my abilities. For example, when I finished 6th at Silverstone, I understood that if I had had a car that would allow me to fight for wins, I would have won that race… If someone says that it was only 6th place and that doesn't impress anyone much, they'd be right in a way. But I know my time will come.

"And now, together with Flavio Briatore, we are working to make sure that next year I will have a car with which I can contend for top results."
