Aston Martin and Glenfiddich have once again delighted whisky connoisseurs.

In November last year we reported on the start of Aston Martin F1's collaboration with Glenfiddich, and at that time the famous Scottish whisky maker truly surprised by finding in its cellars a cask of that spirit laid down back in 1959.

It was a landmark year for Aston Martin: that season the British company made its first attempt to enter Formula 1, and its DBR1/300, driven by Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby, won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But now the team from Silverstone and the distillery from the Speyside valley have once again delighted whisky lovers, this time with a more accessible version of the single-malt product, but also very appealing.

The Scottish master distillers released a limited-edition 16-year-old Glenfiddich in honor of the long-term partnership with the Formula 1 team, which since midseason has regularly scored points — mainly thanks to Fernando Alonso.

Those few experts who have already had the chance to taste the spirit, aged in American oak barrels formerly used for bourbon, note fresh fruity, vanilla and creamy notes, as well as a balanced finish.

This version of Glenfiddich is the first to be released as part of the collaboration with Aston Martin. In the U.S. market it is offered at $75 per bottle.
