Gasly: We are aiming for a good result
Alpine sits last in the Constructors' Championship and hopes for a productive race in Zandvoort…
Pierre Gasly: "I'm happy with the summer break. I spent time with my family, friends and the dog in Portugal, was able to switch off from work and enjoy the rest. The pause was needed — the season has been tough for us. I know the team felt the same, and I hope everyone managed to recharge.
We are motivated and in better spirits as we begin the second part of the season, which starts this weekend with the round in Zandvoort, at a track I really like. It's an old circuit with narrow but fast corners, and its undulating sections make it unique.
I fondly remember the 2023 race when I first stood on the podium with the team. Throughout my career I've performed well at this track, scoring points last year too. This weekend we're targeting a strong result. I'm ready to get back to racing — let's go!"
Franco Colapinto: "I had a great summer break, rested with family and friends, enjoying the Mediterranean weather. I also trained and kept myself fit — and I'm ready to get back on track to start the second half of the season.
The team has worked hard during the season; everyone deserved a short break. There are two more European rounds ahead, after which we have a run of races outside Europe.
I spent most of my junior career with Dutch teams Van Amersfoort Racing and MP Motorsport — since then I've liked the Zandvoort circuit.
This round will be special — this weekend marks one year since my Formula 1 debut. Since then there have been many ups and downs, but they have all contributed to my development. The weather looks like it will be changeable. We'll try to take any opportunities to achieve a positive result."
