Alonso: Eighth place is great, although it wasn't that simple.

At Zandvoort both Aston Martin cars finished in the top ten, although Lance Stroll started way back in 19th position. But the team acted correctly in choosing the strategy, and the drivers managed to overtake rivals, despite the fact that overtaking on the Dutch circuit is extremely difficult. And yet Fernando Alonso believes that with a more favorable turn of events they could have achieved more.

Fernando Alonso (8th): "In today's race our car was capable of a decent pace, and we finished in the top ten. 8th place is an excellent result, although it wasn't that simple. The safety car came out at an unfortunate moment for us, and we couldn't take advantage of that situation. It felt like I could have been much faster than some of the cars that finished ahead of us, for example faster than the Haas. Although after the second pit stop towards the end of the race we had several good duels. But the fans surely enjoyed this entertaining race, and now we'll see whether the battle on the track in Monza next week will be just as interesting."

Lance Stroll (7th): "The race was eventful, there were plenty of opportunities to move forward, and we're pleased that both cars finished in the top ten. In the early stages of the race we managed to gain quite a few positions because we chose the right strategy and made an early pit stop after the first stint. It's nice to fight back during the Grand Prix, because the weekend had been off to a poor start: we began from 19th position, and on Friday and Saturday the team had to work hard repairing my car. Next week at Monza we'll be back on track, and I'm already looking forward to that race."

Mike Krack, Racing Director: "There were all sorts of incidents this weekend, including in today's race, but it's great that we are leaving Zandvoort having scored points with both cars. Lance and Fernando gave it their all today, and we were also right to keep an extra set of tyres for the race. The car was capable of a good pace, and both drivers acted decisively and made important overtakes. We scored 10 points, which helped the team remain sixth in the Constructors' Championship. This week we had to spend long hours in the garage, so I want to thank all the engineers and mechanics of the race crew for their efforts."
