Dutch King suggests a potential return to F1 after 2026.

Dutch King Willem-Alexander indicates that Formula 1 might still return to Zandvoort in the future, despite the race facing elimination after 2026. The private organizers of the event previously announced their exit due to rising costs and stiff competition from other potential venues. Unlike many grands prix, the Dutch Grand Prix does not receive any government support. "I understand the financial considerations," the King remarked, "but it’s unfortunate that Formula 1 is leaving again." He made these comments to Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau, the largest news agency in the Netherlands, while touring the Zandvoort grid alongside Queen Maxima and their three daughters. "Fortunately, we can still enjoy it two more times," stated Willem-Alexander. "And who knows, the event may come back." He described it as one of the most beautiful events of the year. The monarch expressed his ongoing fascination with the sport, noting that it blends elite competition, strength, and technical skill. "The innovations in Formula 1 eventually translate to sustainability and improvements in materials and safety for everyday vehicles. Society truly benefits from these advancements." However, despite the royal family's attendance and the continued popularity of Max Verstappen, organizers and merchandise sellers acknowledged a decrease in demand for 2025. For example, Friday's crowd at Zandvoort did not reach full capacity.
