Domenicali: We must set ever higher goals.

Stefano Domenicali took part in a press conference held in the Italian town of Brianza devoted to the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix.

"For Formula 1 and for our country the Italian Grand Prix is a symbol of sporting and cultural heritage; this race has always been part of the championship," emphasized the Formula 1 president, addressing those gathered via video link. "It's wonderful that Italy is represented by such a legendary team as Ferrari, but Racing Bulls are also performing with growing confidence, and Isack Hadjar's podium last Sunday was proof of that.

Monza is included in the season calendar alongside cities such as Singapore, Miami, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi, so we must each year make every possible effort, invest as much as possible, so that the experience of taking part in the race and visiting the circuit becomes as high-quality as possible for the fans, for the teams, for the service personnel. We need to set ever higher goals."

In particular, on Friday in Brianza, which is a half-hour drive from Monza, a meeting will be held with promoters of all the championship races where plans for the future will be discussed together with the Formula 1 leadership.

When Domenicali was asked whether the efforts made by the Monza circuit management and the local authorities are sufficient to meet the tasks set by Formula 1, he replied: "I would say that some balance has now been achieved; things are moving at the pace of a middle-distance runner. We need to create more favourable conditions for the public, and starting from September 8, already the day after the race, its organisers must begin to respond to our requests, because there is still a great deal to be done."
