Oscar Piastri received a warning.
The stewards of the Italian Grand Prix issued a warning to Oscar Piastri for breaching the race director’s instructions during the second practice session. The McLaren driver’s infringement consisted of leaving the garage onto the pit lane before race control had announced the time the pit lane would open prior to the session restart after the red flags. In their findings the stewards noted that because the breach occurred in practice, not in qualifying — where the order of exiting the pit lane onto the track matters — Piastri did not gain any sporting advantage, and they limited themselves to a warning.
