Former Haas F1 team principal Günther Steiner has acquired the Tech3 MotoGP team. The deal is valued at $23 million and was financed by the Ikon Capital fund.

A consortium led by Steiner will take over management of the team, including its Moto3 entry, from the 2026 season. Steiner will assume the role of CEO, and his project partner Richard Coleman will become team principal.

Founder and current team principal Hervé Poncharal will continue to lead the team until the end of the season, after which he will focus on nurturing young talent at Tech3.

Under the new leadership the team will continue to compete under the Tech3 name, using KTM machinery and operating from its long-standing base in the commune of Bormes-les-Mimosas, France.

Günther Steiner: "Tech3 is an excellent team with enormous potential and an impressive legacy. Hervé's influence on the team and on MotoGP cannot be overstated; it is a great honor for us to take on leadership and continue to build on that foundation.

We are pleased to become part of the MotoGP paddock and to unlock the team's and the sport's potential as it develops, helping to attract a new audience."
