Pierre Gasly and Alpine extended their contract.
Pierre Gasly and the Alpine team have signed a new long-term contract running until the end of the 2028 season.
Recently Flavio Briatore called Pierre Gasly "the backbone of the team." This year Pierre has scored all twenty points Alpine currently has — his teammates Jack Doohan and Franco Colapinto have not scored any points.
Pierre Gasly: "I am happy to tie my long-term future to Alpine. As a Frenchman, I am proud to race for a French car company.
Since joining the team in 2023, I have always felt this was the right place for my future. The support and belief in me from Flavio Briatore, François Provost's commitment to the Formula 1 project, and the people who work in Enstone made this decision easy.
I want to stay with the team for many years and achieve our shared goal: to win races and titles. I look forward to continuing this special story."
Flavio Briatore: "Since my return to the team I have always spoken about how important it is to strengthen and develop its competitiveness.
We are preparing for a new era of Formula 1 that will begin in 2026, and now we have a confirmed leader who will lead us into the future. Pierre has been a huge asset to the team during this difficult period. I am impressed by his attitude, dedication and talent, and together we look forward to continuing this project."
