Ben Sulayem announced his candidacy for a second term.

      FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has officially announced his candidacy for the FIA presidential election, which will take place on December 12, 2025. Thus, Ben Sulayem became the second candidate in the election after Tim Mayer.

      The incumbent FIA president is running his re-election campaign under the slogan "Much has been achieved, but the best is yet to come." In Ben Sulayem's campaign team are Carmelo Sanz de Barros (head of the FIA Senate), Tim Sherman (Vice-President for Mobility), Malcolm Wilson (Vice-President for Motorsport), Fabiana Ecclestone (Vice-President for Sport for the South America region) and other senior current FIA officials.

      If elected, Mohammed Ben Sulayem will continue to serve as FIA president until the end of 2029. Under current rules, the FIA president cannot be elected for more than three consecutive terms.
