Briatore: Hamilton will be back in the fight for victories
Lewis Hamilton's results this season have led to increasing talk that the seven-time world champion should retire. However, Flavio Briatore holds a different view — he believes that under Frédéric Vasseur's leadership Ferrari and Hamilton will be winning in 2026.
Flavio Briatore: "I have enough problems without them. I was only close to Ferrari in the garage. In fact, no one offered me a move to Ferrari, but when I worked at Benetton, Ferrari took 12 or 13 people from me — starting with Michael Schumacher. Luca di Montezemolo was and remains an excellent manager with extraordinary leadership abilities, but even he had to wait five years for victories. It's a difficult task, but sooner or later Frédéric Vasseur will solve the problems. He's a good man, but today the battle in Formula 1 is very tough — seven cars are separated by two tenths. This year there is only one truly competitive team — McLaren. Next year everything will change, and we will also be fighting for the podium. You'll see, with the new cars Hamilton will be back fighting for wins. He is always magnificent."
