Sergio Perez confirmed his first tests with Cadillac.

Sergio Pérez has officially confirmed his first tests behind the wheel for Cadillac as part of the team's preparation for its debut Formula 1 season in 2026. The Mexican driver said this during a sponsorship event in Los Angeles.

"Next week I will be in Charlotte and England," Sergio Pérez said. "It's important for me to get behind the wheel this year so my body, and especially my neck, can get used to what awaits me in 2026. I'll be training on the simulator, and then we have on-track tests with an F1 car planned."

Cadillac will conduct tests with a Ferrari car from recent years, as Ferrari will become the team's power unit supplier next year. The exact date and location of the tests involving Sergio Pérez are not yet known.

Earlier, Mercedes did not allow its reserve driver Valtteri Bottas to take part in Cadillac tests until his current contract expires.
