Kimi Antonelli received a race warning.

      Kimi Antonelli received his first race warning of the season for not slowing sufficiently under yellow flags during qualifying.

      In the first session yellow flags were not displayed around the circuit or on the track light panel for Kimi, however a yellow-flag indication briefly flashed on his steering wheel. At that time Kimi overtook two cars, and after a team instruction he slowed and aborted the attempt.

      Since Antonelli did not gain a sporting advantage, but a formal breach of the rules did occur, the stewards of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix limited themselves to issuing a race warning to the Mercedes driver.

      The stewards also reviewed an incident in the third practice when Nico Hülkenberg overtook Lewis Hamilton under yellow flags. Because Nico did not see the yellow flags, Hamilton was moving slowly on track, and the incident took place after the end of the session, the stewards decided not to apply sanctions to the Sauber driver.
