Jos Verstappen won the Belgian rally championship.

This weekend it wasn't only Max Verstappen who shone — he won a GT3 race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife on his first attempt — but his father did as well.

Jos Verstappen and his co-driver Reno Jamoul became Belgian rally champions. Yesterday, competing in a Rally2-class Skoda Fabia RS, they finished third in the penultimate round of the season, and that was enough to secure the title with a round to spare.

"We are very happy, although this rally wasn't the most exciting," Verstappen Sr. commented. "At first we took a conservative approach to tyre choice and only towards the end put the right tyres on the car and were able to pick up the pace. However, we drove the final special stage more calmly because we wanted to secure the championship — that was our main goal today.

I always try to prepare as well as possible and rely on the support of the right people. Of course, Reno played a very important role; we enjoy working together and fighting for top results. And when the shared effort is enjoyable, the results will surely follow!"
