McLaren terminated the contract with Alex Dann.

McLaren announced the termination of the contract with Alex Dunn, a member of its junior programme.

The Irish driver joined McLaren last year during his debut season in Formula 3. In 2025 Alex moved up to Formula 2 and, with two rounds remaining in the season, is fifth in the drivers’ standings. In addition, Dunn has already taken part in two Friday practice sessions at Spielberg and Monza.

“McLaren Racing has terminated the contract with Alex Dunn, a member of the junior driver development programme,” the British team said in a short statement. “It has been a pleasure working with Alex over the past year and contributing to his success and further development through the junior programme.

The partnership with Alex ends with immediate effect. We wish him all the best in his future career.”

According to paddock sources, Alex Dunn and McLaren failed to reach an agreement on the further development of his career, which is why the collaboration was ended.
