Ocon: Our car is effective at low speeds.

After the summer break Haas scored points only once — at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. At the FIA press conference in Singapore Esteban Ocon expressed confidence that he would be able to fight for a place in the top ten this weekend as well.

Esteban Ocon: "After the summer break our team had a very good race in Zandvoort. We didn't do very well in qualifying, but in the race the car had strong pace, which allowed us to finish in high positions.

Then we had races at circuits that don't suit us very well. In Monza and Baku there were some areas where we were badly lacking pace. But I hope we'll perform better in Singapore.

I like the circuit, especially after they rebuilt the final sector a few years ago. Actually, I like the Singapore circuit more and more each year as I get to know it better. Besides, we always get support here.

I hope the car suits this track. Mostly we lose time on the straights, but there aren't many of them here. Our car works quite efficiently on corner exits and at low speeds.

On the other hand, the fight will be very tight again. Also, the weather conditions may be tricky. We'll see which sessions run on a dry track and whether the most important ones will be among them. But there will be opportunities, and I hope we can take advantage of them."
