The FIA warned teams about the heat for the first time.

In accordance with the sporting regulations, if during the weekend the temperature exceeds 31°C, the FIA must issue a special warning. Today this happened for the first time.

This weekend daytime temperatures of +32°C are expected on Saturday and Sunday, so on Thursday morning the teams received such a warning from the race director.

During the Singapore weekend all cars will, for the first time in history, be fitted with a driver cooling system. Its use is optional and depends on the driver's decision, but having the system this weekend is mandatory.

Drivers face an important choice: wear a cooling vest with flexible tubing connected to the system or add ballast to the car — a 500-gram weight.

George Russell tried the vest for the first time at the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier this year, praised it for its cooling properties, but complained about the cockpit being even more cramped.
