Jaguar's new lineup has record-breaking statistics in Formula E.

In a couple of weeks the Formula E preseason tests will get underway in Valencia — they will start on Monday, October 27, and run for four days, until the 30th. But the world championship teams for electric car racing will stay at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain for an extra day, because women's tests are also scheduled for October 31.

However, that's another story, and last year we covered these tests, which are held specifically to give talented female drivers the opportunity to show what they can do behind the wheel of Formula E cars. In November 2024 the fastest time at such tests was set by Abbi Pulling, a fairly experienced British driver who at the time was already on her way to the title in the F1 Academy women's series.

Recently we reported that one of the most experienced and fastest Formula E drivers, Portuguese António Félix da Costa, who has 12 wins to his name, parted ways with Porsche Motorsport. It was announced in recent days that the 2020 world champion will now become Mitch Evans's teammate at Jaguar and will appear at the upcoming tests for the first time wearing the factory team's livery of the famous British manufacturer.

Da Costa has an enviable reputation in the motorsport world, not least because he is a very versatile driver who has achieved success in a wide range of categories, and he is distinguished by a deep technical understanding.

"It is a great honor for me to join Jaguar Racing, a team with such a rich sporting heritage," António commented. "It is known for its persistence in achieving its goals, its pursuit of high performance and innovation, and I have always admired that. I am already looking forward to getting behind the wheel of their impressive Jaguar I‑TYPE 7. I also consider it a privilege that my teammate will be Mitch Evans, one of the most experienced Formula E drivers and a good friend of mine. I am excited about what the next chapter of my career will be — I will have to learn, push the boundaries of what’s possible, and play my part in the further development of this team."

Between da Costa and Evans they have 270 starts in Formula E, 26 wins, 60 podiums and 18 poles — such impressive statistics cannot be claimed by any team in the history of the electric series.

The tests in Valencia will be the only opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season on a real track, and on December 6 the first round of the 12th Formula E season will get underway in São Paulo.
