Pierre Vashe: I hope we've found the right direction.

Pierre Wache, technical director of Red Bull Racing, spoke about preparations for the next season, when the teams in the championship will switch to next‑generation chassis and power units.

"It's difficult to talk about the power unit, but what we are seeing is very encouraging," Wache said in an interview with RacingNews365. "As for the car, in the context of the new aerodynamic regulations there is still a lot to work out, and on top of that we don't know what ideas our rivals will have.

"Usually you learn a lot when you see other teams' cars and try to figure out what everyone else is doing. I hope we've found the right direction, but you can't be certain of anything."

In 2025 the team from Milton Keynes dropped back a bit, but after the summer break in the championship they clearly improved, and Max Verstappen took two consecutive wins — in Monza and Baku — so formally he can again be considered a title contender.

"These successes are also very important for preparing for next year, and we continue to develop the RB21," Pierre Wache continued. "Although the current regulations differ from the new ones, everything we learn in terms of chassis characteristics and all the requirements that drivers have will help address problems next year. Although they will need to be solved differently...

"However, I want to clarify: all the decisions we have now, as well as those that will appear a little later, were developed long ago. None of this appeared yesterday; it was done in advance."
