Formula E: Nico Müller joins Porsche
Nico Müller has signed a contract with Porsche and will become Pascal Wehrlein's new teammate in the 12th Formula E season; Wehrlein was last season's champion of the electric series.
Nico has been competing in Formula E since 2023; last season he worked with the Andretti team, which uses Porsche powertrains, and now he is moving to the company's factory team from Stuttgart.
At the Porsche Formula E Team he will replace António Félix da Costa, who will now compete for Jaguar.
Nico Müller: "I am incredibly proud and thank Porsche Motorsport for their trust. My previous season wasn't easy (I finished 15th in the drivers' standings), but I learned a lot, and it all greatly motivates me. I want to repay the team for their faith in me with my results on track.
I look forward to getting to know the team better and am convinced that together with Pascal we will form a strong pairing. I want to contribute to the common cause as soon as possible and help the team build on its recent successes."
At the Porsche Motorsport centre in Weissach both drivers have already started working on the simulator; they are preparing not only for the upcoming championship but also for the 13th season, when Formula E will switch to fourth-generation cars. However, the immediate priority is preparation for the pre-season tests in Valencia, which begin in two weeks.
