      It is claimed that George’s contract is for at least two years. It is believed that the contract length was the reason for the prolonged negotiations — the driver insisted on a two-year deal, while the team was prepared to sign for one year. But, as we can see, the parties managed to reach an agreement on the terms of the British driver.

      Why did Mercedes not emphasize that Russell has a multi-year contract? According to the publication, this was done because the team feared it would provoke a new wave of rumors, so it decided not to disclose additional details.

      As for Kimi Antonelli’s contract, he signed a one-year deal with an option to extend into 2027.
