Charles Leclerc: It's frustrating to return home without any podiums.
Charles Leclerc has not stood on the podium since the Belgian Grand Prix in July. The Ferrari driver is disappointed with the current results but is trying to rally the team and aims to achieve better results in the remaining rounds of the season.
"Of course the results are upsetting, and it's frustrating to go home without podiums. That applies not only to me but to the whole team," Charles Leclerc, who turned 28 on Thursday, said in Austin. "We at Ferrari clearly understand our goals and know what we must do.
"At the moment we are far from the results we want, and every time we fail to achieve them everyone in the team feels disappointed, myself included. But we are highly motivated to reverse the negative trend and try to achieve something special before the end of the season. We don't have the same pure pace that McLaren or Red Bull have, and even Mercedes right now, but if we do everything perfectly we won't be a second behind.
"If we do everything perfectly, we'll have opportunities for a good result, especially on sprint weekends. So I'm looking forward to the start of the round in Austin, although of course it will not be easy given how the last few weekends have gone."
