Helmut Marko: I hope we'll see a repeat of 2010.
Red Bull's motorsport consultant Helmut Marko saw a parallel between the fight for the drivers' title this season and in 2010. Back then Sebastian Vettel was in third place up until the finale in Abu Dhabi, as Max Verstappen is now, but he ultimately won the title.
Helmut Marko: "It's incredible that 15 years have already passed since then. That success benefited the whole team. Every title has its own story, but the decisive factor has always been success in the drivers' standings.
Looking back to 2010, Sebastian arrived in Abu Dhabi third in the standings, behind Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber. But it was Sebastian who became champion that year. I hope we'll see a similar scenario this season.
Although things didn't go perfectly in Singapore and very recently in Mexico, Max still managed to claw back points from the leaders. Now we've arrived in Brazil, and it was at this very track last year that the decisive step in the title fight was taken.
As far as I understand, McLaren intend to give their drivers complete freedom of action until the very end. Perhaps that will spur Oscar Piastri to fight back even more."
