"It’s amazing to be at Interlagos"

Felipe Massa made a rare appearance in the Formula 1 paddock at his home Grand Prix in Brazil this weekend, as he awaits the outcome of his prominent legal dispute against the FIA, Formula 1, and former boss Bernie Ecclestone. Speaking to DAZN at Interlagos, the 11-time Grand Prix winner—who is seeking compensation and potential acknowledgment for the 2008 title he lost to Lewis Hamilton due to the Crashgate scandal—shared his thoughts on the current state of the sport as well as his ongoing battle. "It’s amazing to be at Interlagos—it's always special," stated the 44-year-old. "Ferrari performed well in qualifying. Securing third place is significant. Kimi Antonelli was also very impressive. We’ll see how Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri do. Max Verstappen didn't meet our expectations, but he’s set for an exciting race," Massa added. The Brazilian confirmed he spent last week in London attending court hearings related to his contentious case. "I was in London for three days fighting against injustice," he disclosed. "This is the most crucial aspect. The lawyers did an excellent job of clearly outlining the situation and detailing everything that transpired." While a verdict is currently pending, Massa remains hopeful. "Now we must wait for the Court's decision," he remarked. "I always have faith in justice. What is right is right—and what is not part of the sport is not just."
