Stella: We need both racers to get on the podium.
During qualifying in Las Vegas, Formula 1 drivers once again showed that they are true masters of their craft, since they had to drive in extremely difficult conditions – the track was very slippery and visibility was limited.
Lando Norris handled his task best of all, securing pole for the third time in a row, and Andrea Stella, McLaren's team principal, received congratulations.
Andrea Stella: “This is one of those circuits that is the hardest to drive in the rain – the asphalt is very slippery here, the track surface temperature is very low, and the walls are very close. Overall, everyone did well, because the session went almost without incident compared to what could have happened.
Our team performed well. Lando took pole, and it's a shame about Oscar – during his final attempt yellow flags came out on the track, even though that was his best lap, and he could have moved up to a higher position.
I believe Oscar could have been third, although it's hard to say that with complete certainty, but fifth is still not bad. I think this year we have a competitive car, although in Las Vegas we have traditionally had difficulties, as in previous years. But we've made important improvements, sorted out a number of technical issues, the drivers are also performing better, so for now everything is going well.
Of course, tomorrow is the most important day, and we must try to get both McLaren drivers onto the podium.”
