      Helmut Marko: “Max put on a great show! I can't say he had a great start, but he got through the first corner better and effectively forced Norris into making a mistake. He didn't attack too aggressively, easily maintaining a gap to his rivals, which allowed him to save his tyres. We stayed out on track longer than anyone else.

      Of course, we knew what condition the rivals' tyres were in. It was funny to hear McLaren's message to Norris: ‘Attack Max, overtake him.’ In response, Max started turning in one fastest lap after another, simply to make the point.

      He did it easily and confidently. We had no problems, but Lando did at the end of the race, so he was lapping two to three seconds slower. Unfortunately, there was no one nearby who could have taken advantage of that.”
