Honda offered Red Bull: Tsunoda in exchange for engines
According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Honda offered Red Bull a deal — to keep Yuki Tsunoda on the roster for 2026 in exchange for a large discount on engines. But the team did not accept it.
Officially, next season Honda will become the exclusive supplier to Aston Martin, and Red Bull will produce power units themselves, but in fact these are the same Honda engines — with technologies that Red Bull bought out and handed to their engineers. In addition, they will need engines and engineering support for tests of cars from previous years, which have become quite popular lately.
According to Auto Motor und Sport, Red Bull did not accept this offer, but received a decent discount because Yuki became the team's reserve and test driver.
