Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Changes to the track and DRS zones
On the eve of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the FIA outlined changes to the Yas Marina circuit and confirmed the location of two independent DRS zones.
Compared with last year, the asphalt has been relaid on the section from Turn 1 to Turn 8. A bump on the exit of Turn 6 on the right-hand side has been removed. The height of the curbs at the apexes of Turns 4 and 6 has been reduced.
The mesh fencing on the left-hand side at the exit of Turn 1 and at the exit of Turn 3 has been extended. New mesh fencing has been installed on the left-hand side of Turn 16.
The Tecpro barriers on the left-hand side at the exit of Turn 3 and the metal barrier on the left-hand side after Turn 5 have been extended.
There remain two independent DRS zones in Abu Dhabi. The detection point for the first DRS zone is located 250 metres before Turn 5, and the DRS activation point is 260 metres after it.
The detection point for the second DRS zone is located 50 metres after Turn 7, and the activation point is 165 metres after it.
