Verstappen's team faces difficulties at the Nürburgring.
Yesterday at the Nürburgring was a practice day leading up to the main events of the weekend – Saturday's qualifying and the 4-hour NLS2 race. However, during the preparations, serious technical issues arose with Max Verstappen's car.
The practice had to be interrupted soon after a fault in the chassis of the Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo of the Winward Racing team was discovered – there were suspicions that it was related to the suspension. After his run, Max discussed something for a long time with engineers from the German company Bilstein, a well-known manufacturer of shock absorbers, after which the car was rolled into the pits.
At that point, the team decided to switch to another Mercedes-AMG GT3, but this car not only was not painted in Red Bull colors – it didn't even have a race number. During the practice, the team focused on setting up the car, but ultimately Dani Hünkadel, Max's teammate, managed to complete only a few laps.
Thus, the drivers of crew No. 3 spent very little time on the track, and it is quite possible that the lack of preparation may affect their qualifying results, which will begin at 8:30 local time. Of course, all of this may also manifest in the race, which is scheduled to start at noon.
