Ferrari will be able to deliver the new engine in Canada.
The ADUO program, which determines engine upgrades throughout the season, assesses the difference in power output of the power units. Manufacturers that lag behind the leader (currently Mercedes) by more than 2% receive additional opportunities for upgrades, and those falling behind by 4% and 6% receive even more significant concessions. According to measurement results, Ferrari's internal combustion engine lags behind Mercedes by more than 2% – this has been officially confirmed by the FIA, which means that after the Miami Grand Prix – at the Canadian stage – the Italian team will have the opportunity to homologate and install a new engine in their cars. Everything depends on whether it will be ready by that time, but Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur confirmed in Suzuka that work is in full swing. Speaking of the power unit as a whole, according to Corriere della Sera, the new version will be ready by mid-June and will debut at the Barcelona stage. In Maranello, they decided to change the battery configuration, confident that this choice will pay off in the long run.
