Wurz: The drivers' chat is overflowing with ideas on the regulations.
During the April break, the FIA will hold a series of meetings with teams, power unit manufacturers, drivers, and representatives of FOM, where changes to the 2026 regulations will be discussed. GPDA chairman Alex Wurz stated that the Formula 1 drivers' group chat is overflowing with suggestions for adjusting the regulations. "In our famous group chat with drivers, which we created in 2015 or 2016, everything is currently bubbling and exploding," Wurz said in the Lift and Roast podcast. "I have rarely seen such activity. The chat is simply overflowing with emotions, possible solutions, technical proposals, and ideas on how to convince everyone that the opinions of the drivers need to be heard. Of course, I cannot exceed my authority as GPDA director and share details. Everything discussed in this chat will remain there. My conclusion is that drivers react so emotionally because they are interested in what the final product will be, and politics do not concern them. And that's great."
