Hamilton's brother has joined the championship team in BTCC.
Nicholas Hamilton, the younger brother of Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton, will continue his racing career in the British touring car series BTCC in 2026.
On social media, Nicholas announced the signing of a contract with the reigning BTCC champions, EXCELR8 Motorsport, which will compete under the name Team Vertu this season.
The brother of the seven-time world champion will drive a Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance in the colors of sponsor Draper Tools. Nicholas's teammates will include the current BTCC champion Tom Ingram, Ricky Collard, and Tom Chilton, the brother of former Formula 1 driver Max Chilton.
Nicholas Hamilton has been competing in the BTCC with breaks since 2015. His best race result remains sixth place at Donington Park in 2023.
"I have the most important announcement of my BTCC career – I have joined the reigning champions, EXCELR8 Motorsport, and will be driving a car in the colors of Draper Tools!" Nicholas Hamilton wrote on social media. "I have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of the best cars and represent one of the best teams! I have worked for ten years for this. I will give it my all and try to make this year the best and most successful of my career."
