Red Bull does not plan to fire Pierre Gasly.

Recently, the racing press discussed rumors that Red Bull Racing's technical director Pierre Wache had lost the trust of management and would be dismissed from the team. However, sources from Racingnews365 report that the reality is quite different.

The team's management is not considering the possibility of replacing Wache; on the contrary, they firmly support the 51-year-old specialist, taking into account the circumstances he has had to deal with this year.

Wache played a key role in shaping the technical structure that allowed the team to dominate several years ago, but the task ahead of him in 2026 goes far beyond his usual responsibilities.

The departure of key staff members, including Rob Marshall and Adrian Newey, as well as chief designer Craig Skinner before the start of the season, significantly weakened Red Bull's engineering department. Restoring the technical team amid the transition to new regulations has proven to be a challenging task for Pierre Wache. Management understands this and does not expect immediate results from him.

The pressure on Wache will significantly decrease if the technical innovations the team is preparing for the Miami Grand Prix provide the expected speed increase.

The innovations are aimed at addressing the most serious issues of the RB22, including reducing the car's excess weight by 9-10 kg, which negatively affected speed in the early stages of the season. In addition to weight reduction, the innovations should improve handling and overall car performance, leading to increased competitiveness.

Possible success in Miami will confirm the correctness of the chosen direction for working with the car and allow Wache to work in a more relaxed environment.
