Rumors: Whitley will start working at Aston Martin in August
In Formula 1, the unexpected departure of Jonathan Wheatley from the position of team principal at Audi after the first two races of the season continues to be discussed. Most analysts agree that the British specialist will continue his career at Aston Martin; however, the team from Silverstone is refusing to comment.
Nevertheless, the Japanese publication Auto Sport Web, citing its sources, reports that Wheatley indeed left Audi for Aston Martin. Jonathan is currently on mandatory leave, but its duration will not be long.
Wheatley is expected to join Aston Martin after the summer break in August. Until then, Adrian Newey will continue to perform the duties of team principal. However, Newey was absent at the races in China and Japan, where he was replaced by racing director Mike Krack.
