John Elkann wants Andrea Stella to lead Ferrari?

The upcoming transition of Gianpiero Lambiase from Red Bull Racing to McLaren will be discussed for a long time, especially since it is not set to happen until 2028. Meanwhile, various versions of the further development of events triggered by this news are already being put forward.

One such scenario was discussed by Felix Görner in an interview with Sports.de, a well-known German journalist who has collaborated with the RTL channel for many years and knows well the laws governing the paddock of the World Championship:

“Lambiase is leaving for career prospects. At McLaren, he will be prepared to take Andrea Stella's place as team principal. It is possible that events will start to unfold more quickly as early as January 1, 2028.

Then other personnel changes may follow: Stella could replace Frederic Vasseur at Ferrari. The fact is that the company's president, John Elkann, wants the Scuderia to be led by the Italian Andrea Stella. Consequently, a domino effect is brewing in Formula 1.”

55-year-old Andrea Stella has already worked with the Ferrari team from 2000 to 2015 in various engineering positions, notably as the race engineer for Kimi Räikkönen and then Fernando Alonso, after which he moved to McLaren.
