Ella Hakkinen earned points in her first F4 race.

Ella Hakkinen, the 15-year-old daughter of two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen, made her debut in Formula 4 (F4 CEZ Championship – Central and Eastern Europe Championship) this weekend. Ella is part of the McLaren youth program and competes for the Swiss team Jenzer Motorsport. In her debut race, held at the Red Bull Ring, she started from 6th position and finished 9th among 26 participants, earning points.

However, the race was marred by a dramatic crash that occurred on the 10th lap out of 14, finishing behind the safety car. In any case, the team believes that Ella's debut was quite successful, especially since she took 1st place in the special women's classification. In yesterday's qualifying, she showed the 11th result and was fifth in her group.

The first race of the weekend took place yesterday, but Hakkinen did not participate in it. In this youth session, the format is such that the 42 championship participants are divided into three groups, and a total of four races take place over the weekend. The first three are considered qualifying, and the top 32 participants qualify for the main race, which will take place on Sunday afternoon. Accordingly, Ella will have to start again.

By the way, the first race of the weekend was won by young Czech Theo Borenshtein, her teammate, and today German driver Elia Weiss, also competing for Jenzer, climbed to the top of the podium.
