Williams will bring Hill's championship car to Goodwood.
The Williams team has announced the lineup for the traditional Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place this year from July 9 to 12. Representing the British team will be 1996 world champion Damon Hill, Williams team principal James Vowles, as well as Luke Browning and Jamie Chadwick. All four will take turns driving the championship-winning FW18, with which Hill won the championship title 30 years ago. During the Festival of Speed, there will also be ceremonial events dedicated to the anniversary of the title. The FW18 will return to the track for the first time after a major restoration carried out by the Williams F1 Team - Heritage, which restored the car to its authentic condition. Damon Hill: "I am very happy and excited to reunite with my championship car FW18 and the Williams team, which has made this event possible at the summer Festival of Speed. To see the car return to Goodwood after 30 years and to share this moment with the fans is a real pleasure for me. Thank you to the team in Grove for their work in bringing the FW18 back to the track. I look forward to getting behind the wheel again!" James Vowles, team principal: "The Goodwood Festival is a special event showcasing the best of British motorsport. It is a great honor for me to participate in the hill climb alongside Damon, Jamie, and Luke this year. Damon’s reunion with the FW18 in honor of the 30th anniversary of his world championship victory is of great significance to the team and motorsport fans. Such moments connect our past, present, and future, and we are proud to celebrate this date."
