The calm demeanor of Ferrari might indicate they are concealing 'something' for Miami.

"The only team that appears to be free of doubts"

Former Formula 1 driver Franck Montagny believes that Ferrari may be poised to surprise the competition after the April break. While Mercedes has established a clear early advantage in 2026, Ferrari is firmly in second place, and team principal Frederic Vasseur has suggested that a "new championship" could effectively start in Miami.

Montagny highlights that what stands out the most is not the sheer speed but the atmosphere within Maranello. "This year, Ferrari embodies serenity. A sense of calm prevails, both in their on-track battles and the changes, whether they are effective or not; they remain unfazed," he said. "The drivers are optimistic, aware, and composed. They trust the process. In my opinion, Ferrari is the only team that appears to have no doubts. And that is why they are the only team that concerns me. Have they figured out something that the others have not?"

The Frenchman pointed out that such confidence is rare for Ferrari. "In the first three Grands Prix, there hasn’t been a single off-note in their comments, and it’s the first time in the past decade that I’ve sensed Ferrari so composed," he said. There is also curiosity surrounding the impending activation of the ADUO mechanism, which could help engine manufacturers like Ferrari close the power gap with Mercedes, widely regarded as the Scuderia’s primary weakness.
