Verstappen: I am not afraid of a serious accident at the Nurburgring.
This weekend, Max Verstappen will continue his preparation for the 24-hour marathon at the Nürburgring's Nordschleife by participating in two races, NLS4 and NLS5, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The four-time world champion stated that he is not worried about a potential crash on the Nordschleife, and the risk of damaging the car on the challenging historic track only adds to the excitement. "I understand that I could have a serious accident on this track, but I'm not afraid of it. On the contrary, I even enjoy it," Max Verstappen said before the start of the race weekend. "I really enjoy racing on this track, and I’m constantly smiling. I feel happy every time I get out of the car. To be honest, that’s exactly what I aimed for – to have fun. I know the track is dangerous, but I’m ready to take that risk. I agree that the track was too dangerous for Formula 1 in the 1960s and 1970s, but now it’s somewhat different. You can crash on any track. Suzuka is also a dangerous track from that perspective. It all depends on how you look at it."
