In spring 2024, former Formula 1 driver Heikki Kovalainen underwent surgery that forced him to end his racing career. He occasionally appears on rally tracks, but health is more important – today he wrote about this on social media.
Heikki Kovalainen: "It's hard to believe that more than two years have passed since my open-heart surgery due to an aortic aneurysm discovered during a routine medical check-up, with no symptoms.
I will always be grateful to the doctors and nurses who took care of me for the opportunity to live my life without limitations – it truly is happiness.
The fading scar reminds me of this event every day when I look in the mirror."
