Rumors: The Turkish Grand Prix will return to the calendar in 2027.
The Turkish press reports on the imminent return of the Turkish Grand Prix to the Formula 1 calendar. If the information is correct, a seven-year contract has already been signed with the Istanbul track, starting from 2027. An official announcement may be made as early as Friday, April 24. Last year, Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali spoke about the interest of Turkish promoters in hosting a race. The Istanbul track was also mentioned among the options for replacing the April races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, but ultimately, Formula 1 decided not to hold any races at all, as there was not enough time to prepare alternative Grands Prix. The Istanbul Park track hosted the Turkish Grand Prix from 2005 to 2011, as well as in 2020 and 2021.
