Formula E: The Prince of Wales visited the Jaguar Racing base
Prince William of Wales visited the Jaguar Racing base yesterday, accompanied during the visit by Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa, drivers of the factory team of the British company competing in the World Championship for electric car racing.
The Jaguar base is located in the old English town of Kidlington, in Oxfordshire, and the royal family member was shown all stages of the process of creating racing electric cars, which embody the most advanced technologies. Naturally, he also sat in the cockpit of such a car.
Prince William spoke with the team's engineers, and the drivers told him about the features of piloting the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and demonstrated the simulator's operation. After that, a comment appeared on the official social media pages of the Prince of Wales:
"It is incredibly interesting to see how the most modern global approach to innovation and environmental issues is applied in Formula E. The team is on the path to a fully electric future and deserves all kinds of praise for it!"
After six rounds of the season, Jaguar is in second place in the championship, just four points behind Porsche, while Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa are in 3rd and 4th places in the individual standings, with the Portuguese driver winning the last two races.
The 7th and 8th rounds of Formula E will take place in Berlin next weekend.
