Miami Grand Prix: Changes to the track and Straight Mode zones

Before the start of the weekend in Miami, the FIA announced changes to the track, the location of overtaking zones, and sections of Straight Mode where active aerodynamics can be used.

There are almost no changes. The FIA only mentioned the pit area, where the slippery markings on the asphalt were removed from the left side of the pit lane, and the working area on the right was expanded. The allowed speed in the pit lane this weekend is 80 km/h.

The interval measurement point before the overtaking zone is located 20 meters after turn 17. If a driver is within one second of the competitor's car at the measurement point, they will be able to activate Boost mode, gaining an additional 0.5 MJ of electrical energy 10 meters after turn 18. In case of rain, the mode will be disabled.

Under normal grip conditions, active aerodynamics can be used in three Straight Mode zones – on the starting straight, in the section between turns 8 and 11, and on the long back straight 90 meters after turn 16. In case of rain, the second zone will be deactivated.
