The FIA has awarded Monza the highest safety rating.
The legendary racetrack in Monza has been assigned the highest safety rating on the FIA Road Safety Index. As reported by the federation, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza received 3 stars for its continuous efforts to enhance safety levels, which is reflected in its approach to organizing all types of activities on the track.
The safety scale was developed in collaboration with the FIA Foundation; this methodology is applied globally to analyze and assess safety levels, as well as to develop recommendations for improvement. This allows for a comprehensive measurement of specific parameters, identifying potential risks and outlining measures to mitigate them.
The management of the Italian racetrack demonstrates a thoughtful planned approach to safety issues, making this work a priority, which is reflected in the FIA assessment. Monza has become only the second track to receive 3 stars, with the first being the Piero Taruffi racetrack in Vallelunga in 2025.
Mohammed ben Sulayem, FIA President: "Road safety is a global issue that requires a comprehensive set of measures to address. Through the FIA Safety Index, we encourage various organizations to take these measures, and I am proud of the achievement of the Monza racetrack, as it demonstrates that our motorsport community can be an example and a leader in important positive changes."
Geronimo la Russa, President of the national automobile club ACI: "This important achievement underscores Monza's role as a unique symbol of world motorsport, as the 'Temple of Speed' is the oldest racetrack still hosting Formula 1 races; it features the highest speeds, and this track is beloved by drivers. Now it is also recognized as a model of safety and a responsible approach to innovation."
