Norris: I'm happy with the win, even if it's just a sprint.

The McLaren team once again demonstrates its ability to come back, and today's sprint in Miami ended with a victorious double for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri…

Lando Norris (1st): “It was a good race! I’m happy to be back on the top step of the podium, even if it’s just a sprint. But the start of the day went excellently for us – thanks to the team that did a huge job preparing technical updates for this weekend.

I know everyone is saying pretty much the same thing today, but our updates really are helping us this weekend. Overall, I’m glad we secured this result for the team.

But it’s very hot here in Miami, and although I had to sweat, I kept attacking, trying to find the optimal balance – I had to be aggressive enough, but at the same time relatively calm and avoid mistakes. Overall, we started this weekend well, now we need to repeat it all again.

The car is working fine, and probably before Saturday’s qualifying and tomorrow’s race, we won’t have to make too many changes to the setup. So far, everything is going well, but there are a couple of things I want to tweak, so I hope that will allow us to gain a little more. But I’m sure the others will do the same, so our task is to show determination and keep attacking.”

Oscar Piastri (2nd): “Of course, my main task was to stick with Lando, but overall the start of the day is good. Let’s see what we can achieve in qualifying. I think everyone will learn a lot from the sprint, including us. Overall, I hope we can maintain the pace we’ve built up until the end of the weekend.”
